Definition
Multimedia sharing sites faciliate the storage, sharing, and sometimes creation of audio, images/photos, and video. This list includes a few of our favorite sites. Why Use It?
Sites that allow you to share audio, images, and video are booming. The reason for this boom is that it takes a lot of storage space to hold onto media files and it takes a lot of bandwidth to share them. Media uploaded onto these sites can take advantage of their sizeable hosting space to post the media directly into your own websites, blogs, and social networking sites. If you were to pay for your own hosting and distributing infrastructure for multimedia, it would be very expensive and require a lot of technical expertise to maintain. There would always be a threat of overwhelming your system and causing a crash if too many people attempt to view a video, for example, simultaneously.
